What is Chia and What Does it Do For You?

Many of you know I am an advocate of chia seed, I always explain it to people as those tiny seeds you used to use to make chia pets, who would have guessed it was soooo good for you.  Here is an article I found a while back, read about it and then go out and get some.  The best place I have found is at Sunflower Market where they sell it in bulk, here in Colorado it’s usually $5.99 for a pound.  Enjoy and I hope to hear some of the ways you are using it.

Here are some quick tips

Ever wonder how you can make your recipes a little healthier?  Well I have a few ingredient exchange tips for you, try these and increase the nutrition of some of your favorite recipes.

Heavy cream = Evaporated milk
1 egg = 1 cup applesauce (not saying eggs are bad just an alternative)
1/2 cup butter – 1 banana
1 cup flour = 1/2-1/3 cup protein powder, you can also grind up some oatmeal and use that with the same ratio it’s awesome
